The Sindh government and federal authorities have agreed to move forward with the construction of the M6 Motorway, connecting Karachi to Sukkur. This new motorway will take a different route, starting directly from Karachi instead of beginning in Hyderabad, marking a significant development in regional transportation planning.

The decision was made during a meeting at the Chief Minister’s House, where officials explored various ways to finance the project, including a potential public-private partnership or a partnership between both the Sindh and federal governments. The planned motorway will cover a distance of 306 kilometers, with six lanes, offering a high-speed toll road designed for safe, efficient travel.

The Chief Minister also requested that the Lyari Expressway be handed over to facilitate heavy traffic flow in the region. There are plans for upgrades on the expressway, with improvements expected to be completed within the next six months, ensuring it can better handle increased traffic and contribute to a smoother, safer commute for drivers.
