Google has announced the opening of its first-ever App Growth Lab in Pakistan, a program that will run for four months, aiming to support high-potential app developers, studios, and companies to grow their businesses in the country and around the world.
The Google program represents the tech giant’s commitment to helping grow Pakistan’s app industry locally and globally.
Farhan S Qureshi, Google’s Regional Director for Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka has said, App Growth Lab will support up-and-coming local developers and help them expand their offerings to an international audience.
The project demonstrates Google’s dedication to support the sustainable growth of the developer ecosystem in the country. “Through our ongoing efforts, we hope to support Pakistani developers in their pursuit of creating great applications for the world”, he added.
Saad Hameed, CEO of Game District said that the Gaming Growth Lab Pakistan 2022 was indeed one of the most insightful programs that we have attended so far in Game District. “We have learnt a lot of information covering all the domains of the mobile gaming industry, from basics to advance. We have optimized our games’ performance by implementing all the intuitive knowledge that we learnt from this program”, he added.
The ‘build’ component of the program would help participants uncover the global app and gaming opportunity to understand different levers to set the all-around strategy for your company.
The ‘develop’ component would bring a user-centric mindset to the app and game product development and leverage best-in-class technology to set your app up for long-term success.
The ‘launch’ component would help participants learn about strategies to win the launch, set up monetization models, and maximize Google’s tools for data to achieve measurable growth.
The ‘scale component’ would provide participants with the knowledge of opening their app to the world by leveraging market and platform diversification strategies.
The tech giant said that the program aims to foster a user-centric mindset to product development, leveraging the best technology to ensure long-term success. The participants will learn about strategies to launch, set up monetization models, and maximize Google’s data tools to achieve measurable growth.
The program will also help the participants understand the global app and gaming opportunity, as well as the different levers to set the strategy for their company. The ‘scale’ component will provide knowledge on how to open the app to the world through market and platform diversification strategies.
According to a report by Data Darbar, a private markets intelligence platform, Pakistan’s app industry witnessed a 35% growth in 2022, with 3.52 billion downloads. With this new initiative, Google aims to support the growth of Pakistan’s app industry, locally and globally.
The program is open to interested organizations, app, and development studios until May 22, 2023. The initiative will begin in June and run for four months, allowing participants to acquire the necessary knowledge and support to grow their businesses in Pakistan and beyond. Google’s new initiative shows its commitment to supporting the development of emerging economies and fostering innovation worldwide.
