The best budget Android phone on the market

With great features, great photo performance, and a stylish look, the Google Pixel 6a is the best budget Android phone you can buy, and one of the best Android phones for the money, period.

One of our favorite features about the Pixel 6a is Google’s Tensor processor, which lets you do some very cool things, such as using the Magic Eraser function to instantly remove offending images from your favorite pictures. Its Night Sight photo system also makes it easy to take photos in nearly any light.

While the battery life could be better, it’s enough to get the job done. And although its display only offers a 60Hz refresh rate, in testing we found this didn’t limit the performance in a significant way.

Frankly, even plenty of premium Android phones have a hard time significantly besting the 6a, and the latest upgrades in the Pixel 7a still can’t compete when it comes to sheer value.

If you’re looking for a phone for well under $500, the Pixel 6a is our favorite option. Now that it’s on sale for just $249 at Amazon, it’s a pretty tough deal to pass up.
