The 14th Brand of the Year Awards ceremony took place in Islamabad yesterday, celebrating the achievements of Pakistan’s top brands. Organized by the Brands Foundation, this prestigious event marked the organization’s first foray into northern Pakistan, focusing on Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The ceremony highlighted the critical role of branding in the country’s economic development, with Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan serving as the Chief Guest.

Governor of Punjab Highlights Branding as Key to Economic Growth

In his speech, Governor Punjab emphasized the importance of a Brand Business Economy as a driver of economic transformation in Pakistan. He encouraged businesses to focus on building strong and recognizable brands, arguing that branding is essential for boosting both domestic growth and international competitiveness. “A robust brand economy will elevate Pakistan on the global stage,” the Governor stated, urging local businesses to prioritize brand development to unlock the country’s full economic potential.

The Brand of the Year Awards, according to the Governor, provides a vital platform to showcase Pakistan’s leading brands and promote national awareness of brand excellence. He praised the initiative for its role in recognizing the innovative efforts of businesses across the country, contributing to a brighter economic future.

Recognition of 175 Most Acclaimed Brands of Pakistan

This year’s event honored 175 of Pakistan’s top brands, recognizing their innovation, growth, and market leadership. Categories included Nation’s Pride, Icon Brands of Pakistan, Brand Scientist, Best CEO, Innovative Brand, Fastest Growing Brand, and Emerging Brands of the Year. These awards celebrate the dedication of Pakistani businesses that are making significant contributions to the country’s economy through innovation and strategic brand building.

Leaders from the business community echoed the Governor’s call for a brand-driven economy. Nasir Mansoor Qureshi, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI), highlighted the importance of promoting a Brands Empowerment Economy in Pakistan, modeled on global successes. Zaki Aijaz, Zonal Chairman of the FPCCI, emphasized the potential for the Brand of the Year Awards to elevate Pakistani brands to the international stage, increasing visibility and market recognition.

Brands Foundation’s Commitment to Economic Growth

Shaikh Rashid Alam, founder and CEO of the Brands Foundation, shared the organization’s journey over the past 17 years, noting its unwavering commitment to promoting brand development in Pakistan. The Foundation continues to champion branding as a catalyst for economic growth, with a focus on promoting intellectual property and supporting businesses at all levels.

This year’s Brand of the Year Awards showcased Pakistan’s thriving business landscape, underscoring the pivotal role of branding in driving the country’s economic success and global competitiveness.
