The State Bank of Pakistan is set to issue a special Rs55 commemorative coin to celebrate the 555th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism.

This coin, issued by the federal government, pays tribute to Guru Nanak’s legacy and his lasting influence. It is made of 79% brass, 20% zinc, and 1% nickel, weighs 13.5 grams, and has a diameter of 30mm.

On one side, the coin features a crescent moon, a five-pointed star, and two wheat stalks, along with Urdu inscriptions. The other side displays an image of Guru Nanak’s memorial with the words ‘555th Birthday Celebrations’ and the years ‘1469–2024’ engraved.

This commemorative coin highlights Pakistan’s respect for its diverse religious traditions and serves as a symbol of unity. It also honors Guru Nanak’s teachings of peace, equality, and harmony. By issuing this coin, Pakistan acknowledges its rich cultural and religious heritage while celebrating an important figure in history.
