Govt hikes petrol price by Rs8, diesel’s by Rs5.16 per litre - Markets

The federal government announced on Saturday an increase in the price of petrol by Rs8 per litre, taking the rate to Rs266.17 per litre.

It also increased the price of high-speed diesel by Rs5.16 to Rs280.86 for the next fifteen days.

The new prices will come into effect from March 1, 2026.

In the previous review, petroleum prices were increased up to Rs7.32 per litre from February 16 for the next fortnight. According to Petroleum Division, price of petrol (Mogas) was then increased by Rs5 per litre, taking it from Rs253.17 to Rs258.17. HSD was increased by Rs7.32 per litre, pushing its price from Rs268.38 to Rs275.70 per litre.
