The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has announced plans to introduce battery-powered tourist vehicles in Saddar Bazaar. This step aims to make shopping and family visits more convenient while promoting an eco-friendly environment.

The initiative is designed to reduce the use of petrol and diesel vehicles, including motorcycles, to help lower pollution levels in the area. By switching to battery-powered transport, RCB hopes to create a cleaner and more enjoyable experience for visitors.

To move forward with the plan, RCB has invited tenders for the purchase of these vehicles. Interested parties can submit their bids until January 2. The bids will be opened and reviewed on January 6, and the contract will be awarded to the lowest bidder by January 10.

The Chief Executive Officer of RCB highlighted the board’s commitment to sustainable urban development and its efforts to reduce pollution in busy areas like Saddar Bazaar. This initiative reflects the growing focus on green solutions in urban planning.

Once implemented, these battery-powered vehicles are expected to make shopping trips easier and more enjoyable for families while supporting the broader goal of creating an eco-friendly city. The RCB’s efforts are a step forward in improving the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
