Hajj becomes more affordable as airfare drops
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsapp

In a significant move to ease the financial burden of Hajj, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has secured a reduced airfare for 2025. Each pilgrim will now pay $800 for flights, $50 less than last year’s $850. This deal, made with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), will benefit 35,000 pilgrims, with Saudi Airlines also catering to an additional 35,000 travelers.

This reduction is part of a broader initiative to make Hajj more affordable, particularly given rising global travel costs. For the first time, first-time applicants will be prioritized in the Hajj draw, set for December 6.

Hajj Applications Open

The 2025 Government Hajj Scheme has officially begun accepting applications until December 3 through 15 designated banks. With a quota of 89,605 Pakistani pilgrims, applicants must submit Rs200,000 with their initial applications. The full package includes airfare, accommodation, meals, and medical care, with long and short-duration options available.

Overseas Pakistanis have 5,000 seats reserved under the sponsorship scheme, allowing them to sponsor Hajj for $4,225 on a first-come, first-served basis. Families will also benefit from shared accommodations, ensuring a more cohesive experience.

This year’s changes reflect the Ministry’s commitment to improving the Hajj experience and ensuring accessibility for all eligible pilgrims.
