Muhammad Haroon General, who is a UCI-certified Road Elite National Commissaire, has achieved a historic milestone for Pakistan. He has been officially chosen to serve as an official at the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Tour de l’Avenir in France, which will be held from August 23 to 29, 2025.

This achievement is very special because it is the first time in history that a Pakistani commissaire has been selected to officiate at a UCI-recognized race in Europe. His selection came after a very tough and competitive process, where only six commissaires were picked from across Asia, Africa, South America, and Central America. Being included in this prestigious group has brought Pakistan into the spotlight of the international cycling community.

The Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) called this a major step forward for sports governance in the country. Haroon, while expressing his gratitude, thanked Dubai Islamic Bank for sponsoring him and also appreciated the continuous support of Syed Azhar Ali Shah, the President of PCF.

Haroon’s journey in the world of cycling began in 2010, and through hard work, dedication, and passion, he has reached this remarkable stage. His success shows not only his personal commitment but also represents hope and inspiration for the future of Pakistani cycling on the world stage.
