Healthcare, industrials lift Sri Lankan shares higher - Markets

Sri Lankan shares closed higher on Thursday, aided by gains in healthcare and industrials stocks.

The CSE All Share index settled up 0.33% at 23,781.23.

Softlogic Capital and Janashakthi Finance PLC were the top percentage gainers on the CSE All Share index, rising 24.7% and 7.2%, respectively.

Trading volume on the CSE All Share index rose to 195.9 million shares from 133.1 million in the previous session.

The equity market’s turnover rose to 4.91 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($15.88 million) from 4.02 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.

Foreign investors were net buyers, purchasing stocks worth 249.4 million rupees, while domestic investors were net sellers, offloading shares worth 4.86 billion rupees, the data showed.

Sri Lankan shares closed higher on Thursday, aided by gains in healthcare and industrials stocks.
