The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has officially denied recent reports claiming that there will be a public holiday on August 13.
Earlier, some announcements from the Islamabad authorities suggested that a holiday had been declared, but HEC has clarified that this information is not correct. The commission has made it clear that all schools, colleges, and universities across Islamabad and other regions will remain open and operate according to their regular schedules on that date.

HEC has urged students, teachers, and all educational staff to rely only on official notifications issued by relevant government or educational bodies for any updates about holidays or schedule changes. They have warned that unofficial news or social media posts can cause unnecessary confusion, and it is always best to verify such information from trusted sources before acting on it.

The commission’s announcement aims to ensure that academic activities are not disrupted and that everyone involved in the education sector is well informed about the correct schedule.
