To work in the UAE, Pakistani job applicants must now meet an important requirement: a Police Character Certificate. This document, along with the E-Protector registration, ensures legal protection and smooth processing for overseas employment. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to obtain both.

What is a Police Character Certificate?

A Police Character Certificate is an official document issued by the police, confirming that the applicant has no criminal record. It is a vital requirement for work visas and is now mandatory for UAE employment applications.

Steps to Apply for a Police Character Certificate

1. Visit the Relevant Office

  • Go to a Police Khidmat Markaz (Service Center) in your district.
  • If unavailable, visit your local District Police Office (DPO).

2. Prepare the Required Documents
Ensure you have the following:

  • A copy of your CNIC (National ID).
  • A copy of your passport for international applications.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs.
  • A signed affidavit (PKR 50) attesting to the accuracy of your details.

3. Submit Your Application
Submit your documents to the Khidmat Markaz or DPO office. After a background check, the certificate will be issued within three days.

For Overseas Applicants
Relatives, such as parents or siblings, can apply on your behalf. They must provide an authority letter verified by the embassy.

Registering for E-Protector Online

The E-Protector service, offered by the Bureau of Emigration, helps workers register online before leaving for employment.

How to Register

  1. Visit the Bureau of Emigration’s website at beoe.gov.pk.
  2. Complete the online form with your personal and job details.
  3. Upload necessary documents, including your visa, police character certificate, and job contract.
  4. Submit the form and select your regional Protectorate office for review.

Approval Process
Once your documents are verified, the approved E-Protector will be emailed to you with a barcode for official use.

Benefits of E-Protector

  • Legal protection during overseas employment.
  • Emergency assistance from Pakistani embassies.
  • Life insurance coverage up to PKR 1 million.
  • Membership in the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation for education and legal aid.
  • Financial support during crises.

By following these simple steps, Pakistani workers can meet UAE work visa requirements and enjoy enhanced security while abroad.
