Here’s When Eid ul-Adha Is Expected in Pakistan

Experts believe that Eid ul-Adha in Pakistan will most likely fall on Saturday, June 7, 2025. The prediction comes after detailed observations and calculations made by Dr. Faheem Hashmi, a well-known Pakistani astronomer.

According to Dr. Hashmi, there is little chance of sighting the new moon for the Islamic month of Zilhajj on May 27. At sunset that evening, the moon’s age will be just 11 hours too young to be visible to the naked eye.

However, things are expected to change by the next day. On May 28, the moon will be more than 35 hours old by the time the sun sets, which increases the likelihood of sighting. If the moon is indeed seen on the evening of May 28, then the first day of Zilhajj would be May 29.

Based on this, the 10th day of Zilhajj when Muslims celebrate Eid ul-Adha would fall on Saturday, June 7.

While the final decision will be made by the official moon-sighting committee, astronomers say the chances of Eid ul-Adha being observed on June 7 are very strong. The announcement gives people across the country a chance to start preparing for the holy occasion.
