Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi has shared exciting news about Pakistan Railways. He announced that travel time between Rawalpindi and Lahore will soon be cut down to just two hours. This improvement will be possible as new trains on this route will run at speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour.

While talking to the media, Abbasi said this is part of a larger plan to modernize Pakistan Railways. The goal is to make train travel faster, easier, and more comfortable for passengers. He also said that better railway services will help improve regional connections within Pakistan.

In another big step, the minister shared plans for launching an international freight train. This train will start from Lahore and travel to the Iranian border. From there, it will continue toward Russia. Later on, it may even expand to Kazakhstan. These plans are aimed at improving trade with Central Asian countries.

Abbasi explained that the new freight routes will make it easier for Pakistan to export goods and build stronger ties with nearby regions. This will also create new business and job opportunities.

The minister added that the government is focused on upgrading railway tracks, improving train speed, and using modern technology to give passengers a better experience. These efforts are expected to bring in more income for Pakistan Railways and support the country’s economy.

These new steps are seen as important progress for the railway sector and for Pakistan’s future in regional trade.
