Highest in History! NAB Recovers Record Rs. 6.13 Trillion in 2025

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has announced a major achievement for the year 2025, reporting record recoveries worth Rs6.13 trillion. This is the highest recovery amount in NAB’s history and has also been described as the largest single-year recovery made by any accountability institution anywhere in the world.

According to NAB, these recoveries include Rs56.11 billion collected through direct recoveries, while a much larger amount of Rs6.074 trillion came from indirect recoveries. A key reason behind this record figure was the recovery of around 2.9 million acres of state and forest land. The value of this reclaimed land is estimated at Rs5.92 trillion, making it one of the most significant asset recovery efforts ever carried out in the country.

In addition to land recoveries, NAB also focused on providing relief to affected citizens. During the year, the bureau distributed Rs164.91 billion among more than 70,000 victims of financial fraud, cheating cases, and housing scheme scams. This step helped thousands of families recover part of their lost savings and restored some level of public trust in the accountability process.

Officials stated that these results reflect stronger accountability measures, improved investigations, and a more effective asset recovery strategy. NAB emphasized that its efforts are aimed not only at holding wrongdoers accountable but also at protecting public resources and ensuring justice for victims.

The bureau reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, rule of law, and the recovery of looted national wealth. It also stated that such actions are essential for strengthening the country’s financial system and improving public confidence in state institutions.
