On August 28, 2024, HMD Global, the company behind Nokia phones, introduced the Barbie Flip Phone in partnership with Mattel. This special edition phone celebrates Barbie’s 65th anniversary.

The Barbie Flip Phone is designed in Barbie’s signature bright pink color and is expected to attract attention, especially after the popularity of the recent “Barbie” movie. According to CCS Insight, HMD Global might sell over 400,000 units in the UK alone.

The phone has a fun and stylish pink design with hidden patterns like palm trees, hearts, and flamingos that glow in the dark. It also comes with a jewelry box filled with accessories, including stickers, gems, phone covers, beaded lanyards, and charms.

The Barbie Flip Phone features a 2.8-inch QVGA display on the front and a smaller 1.77-inch secondary display. It has a 0.3-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and a 1450 mAh battery, which can last up to 9 hours of use.

Under the hood, it uses a Unisoc T107 chipset, with 64MB of RAM and 128MB of internal storage. The phone does not support internet access or social media apps. Instead, it focuses on basic functions like calling and texting. When you turn it on, you’ll hear a cheerful “Hi Barbie” voice message.
