The Korean Government has launched the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) 2026, a fully funded program opening doors for Pakistani students to study in South Korea. This is a major international scholarship covering tuition, living costs, airfare, language training, and more. It offers undergraduate, graduate, and research options for students around the world, including Pakistan.

What the Scholarship Covers

The GKS Scholarship is fully funded. That means students do not pay for tuition or major costs of study in Korea. Key benefits include:

Who Can Apply

Pakistani students at different academic levels can apply. Here’s who is eligible:

  • Undergraduate candidates must be under about 25 years old and have a high school certificate or expect to graduate soon.
  • Graduate applicants (Master’s or PhD) must have relevant prior degrees and usually be under around 40 years old.
  • Applicants must be Pakistani citizens (with parents also non-Korean) and in good health.
  • A strong academic record is expected, usually equivalent to an 80 percent average or in the top 20 percent of the class.

Students can pick from many academic areas, including:

  • Engineering and Technology
  • Natural and Life Sciences
  • Social Sciences, Economics, and Business
  • Arts, Humanities, and more

Application Tracks

There are two main ways to apply:

  1. Embassy Track: Apply through the Korean Embassy in Pakistan.
  2. University Track: Apply directly to a chosen Korean university.

Applicants must only choose one track to avoid disqualification.
