Pakistan is preparing to export halal meat worth Rs. 47 billion to Malaysia over the next five years, which is expected to give a strong boost to the country’s livestock industry and export sector. This move is being seen as an important step toward expanding Pakistan’s role in the international halal food market.

Under this plan, Pakistan will supply around 130,000 metric tons of halal meat to Malaysia. To meet this demand, nearly 552,000 livestock animals will be required. The total investment for the project is estimated at $140 million, with $80 million coming from the private sector and $60 million provided by the government. This joint effort aims to ensure proper infrastructure, processing facilities, and smooth export operations.

Government officials have officially declared halal meat as a priority export sector. The main goals are to increase foreign exchange earnings, strengthen trade relations with Malaysia, and open up new opportunities for local farmers, livestock breeders, and investors across the country. The initiative is also expected to support rural development by creating jobs and improving income levels within farming communities.

With growing global demand for certified halal products, Pakistan is positioning itself as a reliable supplier in the global halal market. This export plan reflects the country’s potential to expand beyond traditional markets and highlights its commitment to developing value-added agricultural exports.
