Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi recently addressed controversies surrounding his conduct, emphasizing that his main goal is to play for Pakistan, not to seek a leadership role like the captaincy.

This statement follows reports of a dispute with coach Mohammad Yousuf during Pakistan’s tour of England, just before the T20 World Cup 2024. Afridi acknowledged the incident, clarifying that he has always aimed to maintain good relationships with his teammates and apologized for any misunderstandings or conflicts that might have arisen.

Afridi stressed that his focus is entirely on his performance and contribution to the team, dismissing any rumors about his interest in the captaincy.

He reiterated his dedication to representing Pakistan on the international stage and assured fans and officials that he is committed to maintaining a positive atmosphere within the team.

The young pacer highlighted that his primary objective is to help Pakistan succeed in cricket, urging everyone to concentrate on supporting the team rather than getting distracted by controversies.

He concluded by reaffirming his love for the game and his country, expressing his desire to continue giving his best for Pakistan.
