Former New Zealand coach Mike Hesson has shared his views on Pakistan’s young cricketer Mohammad Haris, saying that the batter has had several chances to prove himself but hasn’t yet taken full advantage of them.

Speaking about Haris’s recent performances, Hesson acknowledged that the player has natural talent and the ability to succeed but needs to show more consistency and maturity to secure a long-term spot in the national team.

Hesson said, “I wouldn’t say Haris’ career is over, but he really needs to improve his decision-making with the bat.”

His comments reflect a growing sense of concern among cricket experts and fans who believe that Haris, despite his energy and aggressive style, has struggled to convert his starts into big scores at the international level.

The coach emphasized that Haris must focus on better shot selection, patience, and game awareness to match his potential. He added that young players often go through such phases, and how they respond to criticism and pressure determines their future success.

Mohammad Haris, known for his fearless batting and quick scoring, rose to fame during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) but has since faced challenges in maintaining that same rhythm for the national side.

Hesson’s remarks serve as both advice and motivation for Haris, encouraging him to refine his skills and return stronger.

Many in Pakistan’s cricket community still believe the young batter has a bright future if he learns from his mistakes and builds his game with discipline and focus.
