The International Cricket Council (ICC) has expressed satisfaction with the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) update on preparations for the 2025 Champions Trophy. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi reassured ICC members that the work to upgrade the stadiums is on schedule and will be completed in time for the tournament.
Naqvi also extended an invitation to the ICC board members to visit Pakistan and personally inspect the preparations ahead of the tournament, which will take place from February 19 to March 9, 2025.
While progress is moving in a positive direction, there are still challenges ahead. One of the main concerns is whether the Indian cricket team will participate. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is currently waiting for clearance from their government before confirming their participation.
Despite these challenges, the PCB remains hopeful and committed to hosting the Champions Trophy successfully. They emphasize their dedication to promoting cricket in Pakistan and ensuring that this prestigious event goes smoothly.
The PCB’s efforts reflect their determination to bring high-level international cricket back to Pakistan, showcasing the country’s ability to host such a significant event. The successful organization of the Champions Trophy would not only boost Pakistan’s image in the international cricket community but also strengthen its ties with cricket boards around the world.
