Imran Ansari has joined Green Entertainment as Chief Marketing Officer, days after resigning from Samaa TV. His move marks a major development in Pakistan’s media industry, given his seniority and decades of sales and marketing leadership.

Imran Malik – MediaBites – November 19, 2025

In a major development for Pakistan’s media industry, reliable sources confirm that Imran Ansari has joined Green Entertainment as Chief Marketing Officer, only days after resigning from the same position at Samaa TV.

His move has surprised many, but industry insiders say it was expected. With the current downturn in news channels and shrinking revenues, most networks were unlikely to match Ansari’s reported salary package. Many had predicted that Green Entertainment, known for its strong financial backing and growth plans, was the only channel capable of hiring a senior professional of his stature.

Ansari’s departure is being seen as a setback for Samaa TV, especially at a time when the network is already navigating tough market conditions. For Green Entertainment, however, his appointment is viewed as a major win. The channel gains a highly experienced Sales and Marketing leader who has worked across almost every sector of the media industry.

Ansari’s resume includes 17 years at Express News, where he rose to the position of COO, contributions to the formation of the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA), and a role as Additional Secretary of DPAP. He has worked in agencies, production houses, publishing, and broadcasting, and holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of Hull, UK. His deep industry relationships and strong operational insight make him one of the most respected executives in the field.

With Green Entertainment expanding and investing heavily in quality content, analysts say the channel is well-positioned to benefit from Ansari’s leadership.

The media fraternity has wished him well, and MediaBites also extends its best wishes on this major career move.
