India’s Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Dies at 92

Former Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away on December 26, 2024, at the age of 92, after battling a prolonged illness. He was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, where he sadly succumbed to his condition despite medical efforts.

Dr. Singh was a renowned economist who played a pivotal role in transforming India’s economy through liberalization in the 1990s. His remarkable leadership and vision helped shape the country’s economic landscape. As Prime Minister, he served two terms and held various key government positions, leaving an indelible mark on India’s history.

Dr. Singh’s efforts led to significant economic reforms, opening up India to global trade and investment. He also held positions such as Finance Minister, Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha. Internationally, he was widely respected for his economic expertise and leadership.

Dr. Manmohan Singh’s legacy continues to inspire generations, and his contributions to India’s economic growth and development remain unparalleled.
