Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has inaugurated the T-Chowk Flyover and the Islamabad Expressway Signal-Free Corridor, a major development aimed at solving long-standing traffic problems in the area. The project was completed in a record time of just 77 days, with a total cost of Rs. 1.4 billion, marking an important step forward for infrastructure in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The new flyover and signal-free corridor are expected to ease daily traffic congestion, especially for people traveling into the capital from GT Road. By removing traffic signals along this route, commuters will now experience smoother and faster journeys. This improvement is also likely to help reduce fuel consumption and lower travel-related stress for thousands of daily road users.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, along with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) team, was appreciated for their strong coordination and efficient execution of the project. Completing such a large-scale development ahead of schedule reflects improved planning and effective on-ground management.
Overall, the project is seen as a significant milestone in improving urban mobility and supporting economic activity in the twin cities. Better road connectivity not only saves time but also contributes to safer and more comfortable travel for the public.
