Israel Continues to Bar Muslims from Friday Prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque for 4th Straight Week

Access to Al-Aqsa Mosque has remained restricted for the fourth straight week, as Israeli authorities continue to limit entry for Friday prayers. The measures were introduced under emergency conditions linked to rising regional tensions.

Security forces have increased their presence across the Old City of Jerusalem, making it difficult for many Palestinian worshippers to reach the Mosque. As a result, large numbers of people have been forced to offer prayers in nearby streets or smaller local mosques.

The restrictions began in late February and have also affected access to other religious sites in the area. For many Muslims, Al-Aqsa Mosque holds deep religious importance, and limiting access during Friday prayers has caused strong reactions among worshippers and community leaders.

Residents and religious groups have expressed concern over the continued closure, calling the restrictions unfair and asking for the reopening of the mosque. Many believe that access to places of worship should be protected, especially during important weekly prayers.

The situation remains uncertain, with no clear timeline for when normal access will be restored. Observers say that ongoing regional tensions are likely to influence future decisions.

Meanwhile, worshippers continue to gather in surrounding areas, showing resilience and commitment despite the ongoing limitations.
