‘It’s an Insult, Pakistan Hockey Players Reject Rs. 400 Allowance Proposal

Pakistan’s national hockey players have strongly criticized the proposal of giving them a daily allowance of only Rs. 400, calling it both unfair and disrespectful.

According to the players, this amount is far less than what a laborer earns in a single day, and it shows a lack of value for their hard work and commitment to the sport.

Many of the athletes expressed their disappointment, saying that such a small allowance makes it almost impossible for them to continue representing the country at an international level. Some even hinted that if the situation does not improve, they may be forced to quit hockey altogether.

Despite these challenges, the players stressed that their dedication to Pakistan remains firm. They continue to play for the honor of raising the national flag in international tournaments, but the financial burden is becoming increasingly heavy. Training, travel, and personal expenses require far more than what is being offered.

This controversy highlights the wider financial crisis in Pakistan’s hockey sector. Once a sport that brought international glory to the nation, hockey now suffers from poor funding, lack of sponsorships, and little government support.

The players argue that without proper financial backing, it will be difficult to motivate young talent to pursue hockey as a career.

They have urged the authorities to revise the allowance and provide better facilities, so that the team can focus on improving their performance instead of worrying about basic survival. The issue has once again raised questions about the future of hockey in Pakistan.
