The Judicial Commission of Pakistan has unanimously selected Justice Aalia Neelum as the first female Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court.

The decision was made under the leadership of Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, who approved her nomination for this groundbreaking position.

Justice Neelum holds the third position in seniority at the LHC, following recent promotions to the Supreme Court. She has an impressive legal career spanning over two decades. She began her journey in law in 1996 as a lawyer and was appointed as a judge of the LHC in 2013.

Known for her exceptional judicial skills, Justice Neelum’s appointment marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s judicial history. Her extensive experience and dedication to the legal profession have earned her widespread recognition and respect within the legal community.

This historic nomination highlights her outstanding contributions and sets a new precedent for female representation in the judiciary.
