On International Women’s Day, Karachi Airport took a special step by giving women key responsibilities in airport operations. Female staff managed important tasks like ground handling, check-in counters, and passenger briefings, showing their skills and professionalism.

These women were hired and trained by Gerry’s dnata, a well-known aviation services company. They handled their duties with confidence, efficiency, and expertise, proving that women can excel in roles that are usually dominated by men.

Akram Wali Muhammad, the Group Managing Director of Gerry’s dnata, appreciated the efforts of these women. He praised their hard work and dedication, highlighting their valuable contribution to Pakistan’s workforce. He also emphasized that women’s participation in different industries is essential for the country’s progress.

This event was a way to recognize the resilience and abilities of women in Pakistan. It showed that when given opportunities, women can take on leadership roles and perform just as well as their male counterparts. The initiative also encouraged companies and organizations to support gender equality in the workplace.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged the event and expressed their commitment to women’s empowerment. They emphasized the importance of equal opportunities and pledged to continue supporting policies that promote gender equality in Pakistan.

This initiative at Karachi Airport was a strong message that women are capable of handling any responsibility when given the chance. It set an example for other organizations to encourage and support women in all fields, making Pakistan a more inclusive and progressive society.
