K-Electric has announced a scheduled power outage in Karachi, set to affect 48 of its 2,100 power feeders across the city on Thursday, May 23. The utility provider issued an alert through various platforms, urging residents to check for specific timings and prepare accordingly.

The planned shutdown is part of ongoing maintenance and system upgrades aimed at improving electricity infrastructure and service reliability, according to a statement on the Times of Karachi website.

While K-Electric has not released the full list of impacted localities publicly, citizens have been advised to visit timesofkarachi.pk for detailed information on the affected feeders and outage schedules.

The news sparked concern and frustration among many residents already grappling with high temperatures and frequent unscheduled load shedding. Social media reactions ranged from disappointment to outrage, as consumers expressed worry over disrupted routines, business operations, and daily life.

Authorities are encouraging the public to stay updated through official channels and to take necessary precautions during the outage period
