The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has introduced the Ehsaas Fuel Support Programme as part of its efforts to provide relief to citizens struggling with the rising cost of petrol. The initiative is specifically aimed at supporting low-income individuals who rely on motorcycles, scooters, and rickshaws for their daily commute and livelihood. Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries will receive a cash assistance of Rs2,000 to help offset fuel expenses. Registration and disbursement of funds will be managed through the Dastak App, ensuring a streamlined and transparent process.
According to Special Assistant Shafi Jan, the programme was launched under the direction of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi with the goal of easing financial pressure on vulnerable segments of society. The provincial government has highlighted its commitment to public welfare, emphasizing that the initiative is part of a broader strategy to support citizens during ongoing economic challenges. This move follows similar subsidy measures announced by the governments of Sindh and Punjab, reflecting a nationwide effort to assist commuters and small transport operators affected by the continuing fuel crisis.
