KP government has announced a major step to support communities affected by recent floods.

According to an official notification issued by the provincial finance department, the government has released Rs1 billion to be used for relief and rehabilitation efforts across the province.

The decision was approved by the provincial cabinet on August 20, 2025, after reviewing the scale of destruction caused by floods.

These funds will be provided as a supplementary grant and transferred directly to the Director Relief, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

The money will be utilized to provide emergency assistance to affected families, rebuild damaged infrastructure, and restore essential services in flood-hit areas.

Relief packages will include food, clean water, shelter, and medical care, while long-term efforts will focus on repairing roads, schools, and health facilities.

Authorities highlighted that this step is part of a wider government plan to ensure that flood victims receive timely support. The PDMA has been tasked with closely monitoring the use of funds to ensure transparency and effective distribution.

Officials also noted that the province has been facing frequent natural disasters in recent years, making it essential to build stronger systems for disaster management and prevention.

By allocating such a large amount, the KP government has shown its commitment to protecting vulnerable communities and helping them rebuild their lives.

The announcement has been welcomed by citizens and relief organizations, who see it as a positive step toward recovery and resilience.
