Lenslo, an innovative eyewear startup, has been awarded Brand of the Year (E-commerce) at the prestigious Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Achievement Awards 2024. In just a short span of time, Lenslo has disrupted Pakistan’s largely untapped eyewear industry, revolutionizing how customers shop for eyewear online. The brand’s unwavering focus on providing a world-class customer experience has set it apart, with policies like free returns and replacements within 30 day, a rare offering in Pakistan’s e-commerce space, where consumer trust in online sellers is still developing.

Starting as a direct-to-consumer platform specializing in contact lenses, Lenslo has since expanded into eyeglasses and sunglasses, making its mark across multiple eyewear categories. Beyond its online presence, the brand has established a retail footprint with its products now available at over 500 optical shops nationwide.

Pakistan’s eyewear industry, as of 2014, generates approximately $500 million annually and is projected to grow at a rate of 9% per year. Despite being a country of over 250 million people, Pakistan’s e-commerce sector remains in its infancy, with no dominant player in the eyewear market. Lenslo has seized this opportunity, positioning itself as a potential market leader. With the right strategy, it could become the go-to name in Pakistan’s eyewear industry.

Adding to its success, Lenslo is endorsed by some of Pakistan’s most prominent celebrities and influencers, including Humaima Malick, Hira Mani, and Dananeer. This has not only strengthened its reputation but also helped it become one of the most followed eyewear brands in the country.

“The aim is to provide an international buying experience to Pakistani customers,” says Osama Khokhar, Founder and CEO of Lenslo. Born in the US and raised in Pakistan, Osama earned a full scholarship to study at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University for his undergraduate studies. Following his graduation, he returned to Pakistan with a vision to transform the local eyewear industry and founded Lenslo to turn that vision into reality.

Lenslo’s vision extends beyond business success. The company has partnered with Rotary International to organize free eye camps, providing eyeglasses to underserved communities. In its most recent initiative, Lenslo conducted an eye camp at Wisdom Model School and College, located on the outskirts of Islamabad, where 220 students received free eye examinations.

With its innovative approach, celebrity endorsements, and a commitment to giving back, Lenslo has set a benchmark for how startups can blend business and social impact. The FPCCI Achievement Award is a testament to its growing influence in the e-commerce and fashion industries. As Lenslo continues to expand its reach and portfolio, it is well on its way to becoming a household name in Pakistan. The company’s journey reflects the boundless potential of Pakistan’s startup ecosystem, inspiring others to dream big and aim high.
