Airlines have agreed to provide low-priced air tickets for categories benefiting from the grace period for overstaying violators and those wishing to return to their countries, scheduled to start on Sunday (Sept.1, 2024) for a period of two months, according to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP).
The ICP clarified that meetings were held with national and foreign airlines, as they were briefed on the details of the grace period for violators.
The airlines reportedly expressed their cooperation and readiness to provide discounted travel tickets for two months to those benefiting from the grace period.
The ICP called on violators to take advantage of the specified period to amend their status by submitting their requests through the electronic and smart channels of the ICP and the approved typing offices, starting from Sept.1, 2024, with no need to visit service centres unless notified to do so for biometric fingerprinting.
