A man who went missing in 1997 has reportedly been found perfectly preserved inside a glacier after 28 years. The man, believed to be Nasiruddin, disappeared while returning from Sapat Valley almost three decades ago.
The discovery was made on August 1 in the Palas region by a shepherd named Umar Khan and his companions. While moving through the area, they spotted a body frozen inside the glacier. To their astonishment, it was completely intact, with the clothes still in place as if untouched by time.
Inside the man’s pocket, they found a National Identity Card with the name “Nasiruddin,” leading many to believe it is the same person who vanished in 1997.
Local authorities quickly arrived at the scene and took custody of the body. A DNA test has been initiated to officially confirm the identity. Officials say this step is necessary before making any final announcements to the public.
