Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz paid a visit to the flood-affected districts of Bahawalnagar to review relief activities and express solidarity with the victims.

During her visit to a relief camp at the Government Technical Training Institute, she surprised many by sitting down with women and personally operating a sewing machine. She stitched clothes alongside them, symbolising her commitment to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with those facing hardship.

The Chief Minister also joined victims for a meal, sharing food as a gesture of unity and compassion. Officials said her interaction with the community was aimed at lifting the spirits of families who have lost homes, livelihoods, and belongings in the devastating floods.

Later, while addressing a ceremony in Sahiwal, Maryam Nawaz praised the tireless rescue and relief operations carried out across Punjab. She noted that the government’s efforts had successfully saved millions of lives and livestock.

She emphasised that these achievements were made possible through the dedication of rescue teams, local administration and volunteers working day and night to provide safety and relief.

The Chief Minister assured the affected families that the provincial government would not leave them alone in this crisis. She announced that long-term rehabilitation measures were also being planned, including financial aid, housing support and programs to restore livelihoods.

Maryam Nawaz reiterated her government’s commitment to continue standing by the people during testing times, adding that Punjab’s future lies in resilience, unity and compassion for those in need.
