Matric Students in Pakistan to get New Subjects Including Fashion Designing

Starting April 11, all public and private schools in Rawalpindi will introduce six new subject groups for students entering Grade 9. These new streams are: natural sciences, computer science, health science, agriculture, fashion designing, and arts.

Students who are moving from Grade 8 to Grade 9 will have three days to choose one of these groups. To help make the right decision, they are encouraged to discuss their options with their parents. Admission forms for Grade 9 will now include detailed information about all six subject groups to guide students and their families.

No matter which stream a student selects, there will be five compulsory subjects that everyone must study. These include English, Urdu, Islamiat, Pakistan Studies, and Quran translation.

The remaining subjects will differ depending on the group the student chooses. For example, a student in the natural sciences group may study biology or chemistry, while a student in fashion designing will have subjects related to design and creativity.

This new system aims to give students more choices based on their interests and future career goals. Instead of forcing all students to study the same subjects, the goal is to allow them to build a strong foundation in the field they enjoy and plan to pursue.

By offering streams like health science and agriculture, the schools are also trying to prepare students for practical, in-demand careers. Students interested in art and creativity can now explore the arts or fashion designing group.

This change is a big step towards making education more flexible and meaningful for students in Rawalpindi. Schools, parents, and students will need to work together to ensure the best choices are made during this important transition.
