MG Motors has officially opened pre-bookings for its highly anticipated U9 pickup truck in Pakistan, marking a significant milestone as the brand’s first-ever pickup vehicle globally.

The MG U9 comes with an impressive Rs. 80 lakh (8 million rupees) price tag, positioning it in the premium pickup truck segment. Interested buyers can now secure their booking by paying the full amount as a down payment.

Under the hood, the U9 features a powerful 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine designed to deliver robust performance for both commercial and personal use. The pickup has already launched in Australia, making Pakistan only the second market worldwide to receive this new model.

Pakistani automotive enthusiasts can view the U9 firsthand at the Pakistan Auto Parts Show (PAPS) 2025, currently underway in Karachi until November 16th. The exhibition provides potential buyers with an opportunity to inspect the vehicle’s features, build quality, and specifications before making a purchase decision.

Alongside the U9, MG is also showcasing the Binguo EV at PAPS 2025 – a subcompact electric hatchback that has generated considerable interest among eco-conscious consumers. However, the company has not yet announced booking details or pricing for the electric vehicle.

Industry experts believe the U9’s entry into Pakistan’s pickup market will intensify competition, particularly in the premium segment currently dominated by established brands. The vehicle’s modern features, diesel efficiency, and MG’s growing dealer network could attract both individual buyers and commercial fleet operators.

More updates regarding MG’s expanding vehicle lineup in Pakistan are expected in the coming weeks.
