The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, in collaboration with Huawei, has introduced the ICT Training Portal to enhance digital skills among Pakistan’s youth.

This initiative aims to equip the younger generation with the knowledge needed to excel in the global IT sector.

Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Minister of State for IT, emphasized the portal’s role in creating a skilled digital workforce. Offering free online courses, the platform ensures equal access for men and women across the country.

She highlighted that improving IT skills is essential for driving economic growth and making Pakistan a strong player in the global technology arena.

She also announced the formation of a National IT Skills Committee, a project initiated under the Prime Minister’s guidance. This committee will further boost efforts to develop Pakistan’s IT capabilities and provide strategic direction to skill-building initiatives.

The minister praised Huawei for its continuous support in skill enhancement and governance. Huawei’s expertise and resources have been crucial in launching the training portal and contributing to Pakistan’s digital transformation.

Shaza Fatima expressed optimism about expanding such partnerships to other ventures, like the Smart Islamabad initiative.

This training portal reflects a broader strategy to improve IT education and prepare the youth for emerging opportunities in the global digital economy.

By fostering collaborations between the government and private sector leaders like Huawei, the Ministry aims to create a sustainable framework for digital learning and innovation in Pakistan. This project marks a significant step toward building a technology-driven future for the nation.
