The Chairman, Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA), Mr.Muhammad Mehr Ali and Chairman, China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) Mr.Li Yuzhong have announced a significant milestone for both industries.

The MOU, made possible through the unwavering efforts and visionary leadership of Mr. Mehr Ali, was ratified in the preceding weeks during the acclaimed “All China Leather Exhibition” hosted in Shanghai. The commitment of Chairman PTA to strengthening trade relations was key, working closely with stakeholders to achieve the signing. PTA member exporters were present in affiliation with National Pavilion of Pakistan.

Both parties have expressed their strong commitment towards working closely for the development of the industries and promoting bilateral trade relations between core sectors of the countries. The MOU proves to be more significant after execution of FTA between Pakistan and China, providing substantial relaxation of custom
duty in China by zero-rating the duty for exporting finished leather from Pakistan, compared to the previous 8-9% duty.
