Starting January 15, NADRA will begin upgrading the B Form for children aged 10 and above, requiring mandatory fingerprints and photographs. This step is being taken to improve security and prevent misuse of the identification process. The updated B Form will be issued in phases, with the first phase covering children aged 10 to under 18.

This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the Passport Department and aims to address several issues, including the creation of fake identity cards, the issuance of illegal passports, and the prevention of human trafficking. By adding biometric data such as fingerprints and photographs, NADRA hopes to make it more difficult for individuals to exploit the system.

Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the swift implementation of these reforms by both NADRA and the Passport Department, highlighting their commitment to ensuring the security and integrity of the identification process.

This upgrade is part of a broader effort to modernize and secure the country’s identification systems. It reflects the government’s dedication to preventing illegal activities and ensuring that personal information is accurately and securely recorded.

As the phased rollout begins, more children will be enrolled in the system, ensuring better protection for minors and contributing to the fight against fraud and trafficking.

The new B Form will help create a safer environment by ensuring that children’s identities are properly verified, adding an important layer of security to Pakistan’s identification system.
