Railway Minister Hanif Abbasi has announced a set of important steps to improve train services across Pakistan. He has set a clear goal: trains must run on time 90 to 95 percent of the time within the next three months. To make sure this happens, the minister said he will personally monitor the progress.

One of the major improvements will be the installation of elevators at large railway stations, starting from Rawalpindi. This step is expected to make travel easier, especially for senior citizens and people with disabilities.

To improve goods transportation, the booking system for freight trains will be moved online. This change will help make the process faster and more transparent for businesses.

The minister also said that strict action will be taken to stop the illegal use of railway rest houses and colonies. These facilities are meant for railway employees and must be used properly.

Hanif Abbasi shared updates about two key railway projects — ML-1 and the Kemari-Hyderabad section. He said work on these projects will now move faster. Once completed, they will greatly improve rail travel and safety.

The online ticketing system for passenger trains will also be upgraded to make it easier for people to book their journeys. These digital changes are expected to increase income for the railway department and provide a smoother experience for passengers.

The minister’s new plan focuses on better service, timely trains, and modern technology. With proper planning and strict monitoring, he hopes to bring a positive change in Pakistan Railways and win back the trust of the public.
