Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) announced on Thursday that it successfully tested a new development well in C-Sands of Lower Goru Formation at Dars West-3, located in District Tando Allah Yar, Sindh.
The company shared the development in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today.
The E&P said that the well was drilled up to a total depth of 2,100 meters and tested utilising OGDC’s in-house expertise.
“During testing, the well produced at a rate of 9.70 MMSCFD of gas along with 580 barrels per day (bpd) of condensate at a choke size of 36/64 inches, with a Wellhead Flowing Pressure of 1,725 Psi from the Lower Goru C-Sand reservoir.”
The notice added that the test results reinforce the hydrocarbon potential of the Lower Goru C-Sand reservoirs in the Dars West area.

“Laying of pipeline is in progress, and upon completion, gas from the well will be processed at the KPD-TAY plant for onward injection into the SSGCL network.
Dars West D&PL Joint Venture comprises OGDCL as the operator with a 77.5% working interest, along with GHPL havinga working interest of 22.5%.
The results reflect the ongoing efforts in reservoir evaluation, testing, and field development,” the notice added.
In 2023, OGDCL discovered gas and condensate at Dars West Well#02, located in the Tando Allah Yar district of Sindh.
ODGCL is the largest E&P in Pakistan with operations including exploration, drilling operation services, production, reservoir management, and engineering support.
The company has the most extensive exploration acreage in Pakistan, covering over 40% of the country’s total acreage awarded, with net hydrocarbons of oil and gas.
With over 67%, the Government of Pakistan is the largest shareholder in OGDCL, followed by the OGDC Employee Empowerment Trust and the Privatisation Commission of Pakistan.
