HARIPUR: The Haripur excise authorities on Tuesday sealed over 30 business outlets for defaulting on property tax.

The move came on the orders of secretary excise department Syed Fayyaz Ali Shah, who directed the authorities to ensure 100 per cent recovery of property tax.

Pervez Akhtar, excise and taxation officer, Haripur, said he along with his team launched an operation against the defaulters in the city, and sealed a car wash station, a petrol pump, a regional office of a private business entity, and 30 shops.

He said that the owners owed Rs8.7 million property tax to the department.

Meanwhile, the shops were later de-sealed after clearing the dues, Mr Akhtar told reporters.
