Pakistan earned US$111.313 million from travel services abroad in the first two months of fiscal year 2024-25, marking a 4.99% increase from the US$106.020 million generated in the same period of the previous year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

The bulk of these earnings came from personal travel services, which rose by 4.82% to reach US$109.411 million. Key areas within personal services also saw notable growth. Health-related travel services increased by 4.82%, and education-related services saw a significant rise of 61.37%. Additionally, other personal travel services experienced a modest growth of 2.34%.

Business-related travel services exports also performed well, with a 16% rise compared to the previous year. In total, the country’s overall service exports grew by 0.13% during this period, while service imports slightly declined by 0.45%.

These figures indicate steady growth in Pakistan’s travel service exports, with personal and business travel contributing significantly to the country’s income from abroad. This positive trend suggests a growing ability for Pakistan to capitalize on international travel markets, while also curbing the cost of imported services. This performance reflects a promising outlook for the country’s economy as it navigates through the fiscal year.
