This year, Pakistan has experienced a significant increase in mango exports, showing the growing global appetite for this tropical fruit. Since the export season started on May 20, 2024, more than 93,000 metric tonnes of mangoes, valued at $61 million, have been shipped.

The main destinations for these exports are the UAE, Iran, and other Middle Eastern countries.

The rise in mango exports is attributed to improved production methods and higher quality fruits. Pakistani mangoes are renowned for their delicious taste and unique varieties, making them a favorite in many international markets.

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) has played a crucial role in this success. Through various promotional activities and initiatives, the TDAP has effectively increased global awareness and interest in Pakistani mangoes.

These efforts have included trade shows, marketing campaigns, and partnerships with international retailers, all aimed at showcasing the exceptional quality of Pakistani mangoes.

Additionally, farmers and exporters in Pakistan have invested in better farming techniques and post-harvest practices to ensure that the mangoes meet international standards. This commitment to quality has helped Pakistan’s mangoes stand out in the competitive global market.

The surge in mango exports is a positive development for Pakistan’s economy, providing a boost to the agricultural sector and increasing foreign exchange earnings. It also highlights the potential of Pakistani agricultural products on the world stage, paving the way for future growth in exports.

As global demand for high-quality mangoes continues to rise, Pakistan is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend, thanks to its rich agricultural heritage and the dedicated efforts of its farmers, exporters, and trade authorities.
