A total of 19 Pakistani companies showcased their beauty and personal care products at the Beauty West Africa exhibition, the Commerce ministry said on Thursday.

Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce, inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at the expo, one of the continent’s largest trade events.

The pavilion, organised by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) under the Commerce ministry, featured 19 leading Pakistani companies presenting a wide range of beauty and personal care products, the ministry said.

During the visit, the coordinator also held meetings with senior Nigerian government officials, including Ms Aisha Rimi, Executive Director of the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC); Mrs Nonye Ayeni, Executive Director of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC); and Ambassador Nura Abba Rimi, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI).

“Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral trade, resolving market access constraints, and improving logistical and financial facilitation for businesses in both countries.”

In addition to the TDAP-supported exhibitors, other independent Pakistani companies also participated, reflecting “the growing interest of Pakistan’s private sector in the African market”, the statement said.
