Pakistan Hockey Players Reportedly Forced to Borrow Money for Expenses as Daily Allowance Remains Unpaid

Pakistan’s national hockey players are reportedly going through serious financial problems, even though they are taking part in major international events such as the FIH Pro League.

Several players in the squad have shared that they have not received their daily allowances for the Pro League matches. In addition, their pending payments from the national team’s tour of Bangladesh in November have still not been cleared. Because of these unpaid dues, some players have been forced to borrow money just to manage basic needs like food, travel, and personal expenses.

These off-field financial issues are creating added stress for the team and are affecting the players’ focus and morale. As a result, their performance on the field has also suffered, with recent losses, including defeats during matches held in Santiago, Argentina.

Players believe that financial uncertainty and lack of timely payments are making it difficult for them to concentrate fully on training and international competition. Many feel that representing the country at the highest level should not come with such hardships.
