Pakistan has taken a major step forward in its digital development by joining one of the world’s fastest undersea internet networks, the SEA-ME-WE 6 cable system. This new connection will help the country access much faster internet speeds and improve overall online performance.

Federal IT and Telecom Minister Shaza Fatima shared that this achievement marks Pakistan’s third major international cable addition within just one year. Earlier, the country joined the Africa-1 and 2Africa systems, showing strong progress in expanding global connectivity.

With these new links, Pakistan’s digital network will become more reliable and efficient. The improved bandwidth will support better communication, smoother online services, and stronger opportunities for businesses, education, and technology users across the country.
