Pakistan Launches First-Ever Drone-Based E-Challan System in Karachi

Karachi has taken a big step forward by introducing e-challans through drones for the first time, changing the way traffic violations are monitored in the city.

The system has officially started working in busy areas such as Saddar, Zaib-un-Nisa Street, Preedy, and Empress Market. In these places, drones are being used to record no-parking violations in real time, making the entire process faster and more accurate.

These drones come with high-quality cameras that are directly connected to the Safe City network. With this setup, the drones can clearly capture vehicles involved in no-parking, double-parking, and even triple-parking.

Traffic police officials shared that only trained staff will handle these drones. After reviewing the captured footage, they will issue e-challans to the owners of the vehicles seen breaking the rules. This ensures that each challan is backed by proper verification and clear evidence.

Authorities believe this new system will help control traffic problems more effectively. Since Karachi has long struggled with congestion caused by illegal parking, the drone-based approach is expected to make a noticeable difference.

It also reduces the need for officers to confront drivers on the road, which often leads to arguments or misunderstandings. By relying on recorded video proof, both citizens and officers can avoid unnecessary disputes.

Overall, this method brings more transparency and fairness to the traffic enforcement process. It allows violations to be documented accurately and handled quickly.

With drones monitoring from above, Karachi hopes to make its roads safer, more organized, and easier to navigate for everyone. This new step shows the city’s commitment to using modern technology for public convenience and better traffic control.
