Pakistan Lodge Complaint Over Review in Third ODI Against Bangladesh

Pakistan has formally lodged a complaint regarding the handling of the LBW review during the third One Day International against Bangladesh at Mirpur. The controversy centers on Pakistan’s claim that Bangladesh requested the review after the delivery replay had already been displayed on the stadium’s big screen.

According to Pakistan’s side, this gave the batting team access to additional information that is not normally available during the standard review process.

Although the review was ultimately unsuccessful, it led to the overturning of a wide ball call, leaving Pakistan requiring 12 runs off a single delivery. In dramatic fashion, Shaheen Afridi was stumped on the final ball, handing Bangladesh an 11-run victory and clinching the series 2-1.

Pakistan officials have argued that normal protocols were not strictly adhered to, particularly the stipulated 15-second window for requesting a review. They are seeking a formal acknowledgment of the procedural lapse from match referee Neeyamur Rashid and expect clarity on the matter to prevent similar controversies in future matches.

This development has added another layer of debate around the use of technology and Decision Review System (DRS) protocols in international cricket, reigniting discussions about fairness and consistency in match officiating
